Abercynon U8's v Brecon U8's

Todays game saw a brilliantly contested event end in a fair draw with both teams scoring seven tries each. Brecon made the trip without top try scorer Ellis Morgan but the under eights gave a gutsy performance none the less. Brecon kicked off the game at a unbelievable pace scoring three early tries from Cai captain Josh evans and little Iwan Lewis who had just been given the nickname the dancing wizard. The home side didnt seem to be able to cope with the visitors not being able to break the brecon defense but through a dropped ball from brecon Abercynon pounced on the loose ball and scored there first try of the day. After the break the home side seemed to gain confidence and scored straight away. Brecons Tom Morris pushed the try count up to four with a spectacular solo run through the heart of the defence. Soon after captain Josh Evans kept up the work with a well worked try with great build up and hands from Brecon. Abercynon then threw everything they had at brecon scoring four hard fought tries taking them into the lead by one. From the restart Cai darted through the defence to score in the corner and after some brilliant defence from brecon saw them turn the ball over and send Cai over the white wash to score his well deserved hat-trick. But in the dying seconds Abercynon caught brecon napping and scored at the death to tie the game seven all. A fantastic effort by all players well done boys.
