Autumn Ball

Brecon RFC Autumn Ball

For the first time in many years Brecon RFC held a major event at the Castle Hotel which has close links through sponsorship with the Club. The venue was superb and the Autumn Ball was a huge success with tables being sold out at a very early date with complete cross section of the club ranging from parents of Mini/Junior players to senior players, former plaers, committee and supporters,

The event reinforced the buoyant feeling within the club at present. In spite of difficult ecenomic times the club is flourishing both on and off the field. With more Mini and Juniors playing than ever before and with the Youth, Second and First XV's all having made a successful start to the season there was every reason to celebrate.

The evening also provided the opportunity to recognise the work of outgoing secretary, Ron Rowsell. Brendan Cullinane, a past Chairman, introudced the award which was then presented by current Chairman, Don Howe.

During the evening a Raffle and Spot the Baby competition helped the club to raise money in support of local Charities as part of the Club's outreach community work.

Such was the success of the evening that there can be no doubting that there will be a big demand for similar events in the future.
